DCMI Architecture Forum

The objectives of the Architecture Forum are to discuss and develop a model, strategy and roadmap for the practical deployment of Dublin Core metadata using mainstream Web technologies.


DCMI Communities

Bedspreads

DCMI Communities bring together people interested in a specific topic related to Dublin Core metadata or the use of Dublin Core in a particular domain. DCMI Communities are moderated by one or two moderators. They have a Web page on the DCMI Web site and a mailing list for discussion and exchange of information. Participation in a DCMI Community isfor anybody who subscribes to themailing list. Information on subscribing to the mailing list can be found on the Community's Web page.

The following DCMI Communities are currently active:


DCMI Task Groups

DCMI Task Groups are established around a specific set of activities leading to a set of deliverables. Task groups are led by one or two Task Group leaders and consist of a group of people who commit to help perform the defined tasks. Task Groups may have a Web page, a Wiki and a mailing list. Anybody can ask for participation in a Task Group; the Task Group leaders are responsible for assigning tasks to the members.

The Date Working Group will convert to a DCMI Task Group in the near future.


DCMI Working Groups

Until 2006, the work in DCMI took place in Working groups which were organized around specific problem domains. At the end of 2006, Working Groups were converted in DCMI Communities and DCMI Task Groups.

Below is a list of Working Groups that were deactivated either because their work was done, the issues were no longer being addressed, or because the group decided to change the focus of the issues. In any case, these deactivated groups remain part of the historical record of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative.

Deactivated after the DC-2001 Workshop in Tokyo (October 2001)

Deactivated after the DC-8 Workshop (October 2000)

Deactivated after the DC-6 Workshop (November 1998)
